Texas legend Vince Young has hired an agent and is attempting a football comeback.
Sports agent Leigh Steinberg, the inspiration for the movie “Jerry Maguire”, tweeted on Wednesday that Young was his new client.
Young had not played in a NFL game since 2011 and announced his retirement in 2014. The hero of the 2005 BCS National Championship team that won the 2006 Rose Bowl currently works for the University of the of Texas as a development officer in its division of diversity and community engagement.
Young could give his comeback a a nice push at the “Spring League” which has reportedly expressed interest in him and other available players. The league is an independent four-team football league made up of free agents that begins in April. The league is run by investors with no connection to the NFL and will play six games.
