About the series: Texas leads the all-time series 49-42. The Longhorns were on a roll over the last two seasons, winning three of the last four games. This has long been a series that shifted hard one way or the other. For example, Texas won 11 of 12 games from 2007-2012. Then, OSU won six of seven.

TEXAS (11-5, 2-2 Big 12)

No., Pos., Name, Class, Ht., PPG, RPG

2, G, Matt Coleman, Fr., 6-2, 8.8, 5.0*

10, G, Jase Febres, Fr., 6-5, 3.6, 1.8

12, F, Jericho Sims, Fr., 6-9, 4.3, 3.1

21, F, Dylan Osetkowski, Jr., 6-9, 15.3, 7.8

4, C, Mo Bamba, Fr., 6-11, 11.9, 10.5

About the Longhorns: Without Andrew Jones and Kerwin Roach Jr., Texas needed a big game by Matt Coleman on Wednesday against TCU. The freshman posted his first career double-double with 17 points and 12 assists. It was just two assist shy of tying T.J. Ford’s school freshman record of 14. … Freshman Jase Febres is 6 for 13 from 3-point range in the last two games. He made only four 3-pointers total in his first 11 games. … With Mo Bamba patrolling the middle, the Longhorns lead the Big 12 and rank ninth nationally in blocks per game (6.31). Bamba is well on his way to smashing the UT freshman block record.

OKLAHOMA STATE (11-5, 1-3 Big 12)

No., Pos., Name, Class, Ht., PPG, RPG

1, G, Kendall Smith, Sr., 6-3, 11.3, 3.6*

21, G, Lindy Waters, Soph., 6-6, 8.3, 3.9

30, G, Jeffrey Carroll, Sr., 6-6, 16.2, 6.5

41, F, Mitchell Solomon, Jr., 6-9, 8.9, 6.9

35, C, Yankuba Sima, Jr., 6-11, 3.6, 3.1

About the Cowboys: First-year coach Mike Boynton was an assistant last season and helped OSU reach the NCAA Tournament. This is his first head coaching job. … OSU’s loss to Kansas State on Wednesday snapped a 19-game winning streak over unranked teams. The Cowboys have still won 14 straight at home over unranked foes. … Veteran guard Jeffrey Carroll is now ranked 33rd in school history in scoring with 1,120 points. … Mitchell Solomon needs only eight rebounds and five blocks to become the eighth Cowboy ever to reach 500 boards and 100 blocks. That would put him alongside Bryant “Big Country” Reeves and Ivan McFarlin.
