A Cougar becomes a Mountaineer

Posted July 23rd, 2013

DALLAS – Charles Sims rushed for 851 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in his senior season with Houston a year ago. That was good enough for third best in Conference USA. He graduated from the school with a health degree, yet decided he wanted to play more college football.

Because he never used a redshirt year, Sims could transfer to a school without having to sit out a season. So now he’s in the mix at West Virginia, after enrolling there earlier this month.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have his services for one year,” said West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen.

Holgoren recruited Sims when the Mountaineers coach was offensive coordinator with the Cougars.
