Texas will start this coming baseball season ranked sixth in Perfect Game’s top 25 poll.
The Longhorns are just outside of a top five that consists of, in order, defending national champion Vanderbilt, Virginia, TCU, Florida, and UCLA.
The Big 12 is expected to be strong, with four teams in or just outside of the top 10. Texas Tech is No. 12, and Oklahoma State No. 13.
Texas is No. 10 in D1 Baseball’s preseason poll.
The Longhorns begin practice Friday, hoping to build off of a 2014 campaign that ended one win shy of a berth in the NCAA finals.
The season opens Feb. 13-15 with a four-game series at No. 21 Rice.
