Texas adds Louisiana Tech to 2019 home football schedule, changes date with South Florida

Texas announced it will host Louisiana Tech in the 2019 football season pending the approval of the System Board of Regents.
The first ever meeting between the teams is set for Aug. 31, 2019. Louisiana Tech will receive $1.1 million from UT.
As a result, Texas has rescheduled a home game against South Florida that was set to happen Aug. 31, 2019 — the same day as the Louisiana Tech game.
The new date is Sept. 5, 2020, and the move will not result in a cost to UT. Unchanged are the other two meetings in the three-game series against South Florida. The Longhorns head to Tampa, Fla. on Sept. 3, 2022. USF comes to Austin on Sept. 7, 2024.
