Ravens kicker Justin Tucker spoofs fellow Longhorn Matthew McConaughey in car ad

Posted August 18th, 2015

Former Longhorn and Austinite Justin Tucker seems to have settled in quite nicely in Baltimore. The Ravens placekicker traded in his purple uniform for a suit to hilariously spoof Texas celebrity Matthew McConaughey in a local car dealership commercial.

Tucker totally nails McConaughey, from the laser-focused stare, to the subtle rubbing of his fingers, down to his signature phase, alright. McConaughey, AKA the biggest University of Texas fan in Austin, added car salesman to his resume with a series of Lincoln ads, one of which was shot in downtown Austin.

Tucker played for the University of Texas from 2009 until 2011 and made a name for himself as one of the best kickers in the school’s history. Most notably, Tucker kicked the game-winning field goal against Texas A&M in the last rivalry game between the two powerhouse universities. He also majored in music.

Since then, he’s gone on to break the NFL record for the longest field goal in a domed stadium, score all of his team’s points for a win against the Detroit Lions, appear in a Pro Bowl and win a Super Bowl. Not bad for a 25-year-old.
