The Texas women’s golf team finished in 10th place at the Minnesota Invitational on Tuesday, shooting 303 in the final round. Their overall score (308-306-303—917, +53) put them 33 shots behind Purdue, the tournament champion.
Julia Beck led the Longhorns, shooting a team-low 70 in her final round. It was the best round of the tournament for Texas. Her three birdies helped her on her way to a tie for 30th place with teammate Haley Mills. Mills and Beck each finished at 12-over par.
Natalie Karcher tied for 42nd after shooting a 75 in the third round. Sophia Schubert tied for 48th while Maddie Luitwieler tied for 58th.
Tezira Abe, playing as an individual for Texas, finished in a tie for 38th.
Purdue took the team title, shooting 20-over par as Celia Kuenster of Minnesota took medalist honors shooting 3-under par.
Texas returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 4 for the Jim West Invitational at the Tapatio Springs Golf Course in Boerne, Texas.
