Texas senior Breaunna Addison lost to top-seed Brooks Austin of Florida in the second round of the main singles draw at the ITA All-American Championships on Friday in Los Angeles.
Austin won the first set 6-2, then beat Addison 6-4 in the second set to advance. It was the second-straight season that Addison lost in the second round at the event. Austin will play seven-seed Danielle Collins of Virginia in the third round.
Addison had four singles victories at the tournament. She won three qualifying matches and beat Vanderbilt’s Frances Altick 7-5, 6-3 in the first round.
Next for Texas is the ITA Texas Regional Championship set for October 22-26.
