Texas’ Cam Ridley named Big 12 player of the week

Posted December 21st, 2015

Texas center Cam Ridley, who was one block shy of a triple-double against Appalachian State, was named the Big 12 player of the week.

Ridley had 19 points, 11 rebounds and a school-record nine blocks in the 67-55 win. Reggie Freeman remains the only player in school history to record a triple-double.

Ridley also had 10 points and 10 rebounds in UT’s 75-73 win over Stanford late Saturday. Guard Isaiah Taylor won it with a runner off the glass with 1.1 seconds remaining.

Ridley’s award comes one week after Javan Felix was named the league’s co-player of the week and Eric Davis was dubbed the newcomer of the week.
