Texas senior Breaunna Addison notched two singles wins as Texas went 3-10 in singles matches against players from Vanderbilt and Ole Miss on Saturday at the Miami Spring Invite in Coral Gables, Florida.
The defending champion Commodores won 4 of 5 singles matches against the Longhorns and the Rebels took 3 of 5.
Addison defeated 24th-ranked Sydney Campbell of Vanderbilt 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-1) and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Mississippi’s Natalie Suk.
“Bree highlighted play with a hard-fought win over Vanderbilt’s No. 1 player and then posted a comprehensive win over Ole Miss’ Natalie Suk,” said Texas coach Howard Joffe. “All five ladies performed quite well against some of the toughest competition in the country.”
UT’s Dani Wagland added a victory over Mississippi’s Tea Jandric 6-1, 6-1.
