Beau Hossler is the No. 1 college player

Texas junior Beau Hossler is the No. 1 college player in the nation, according to the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings. Jeff Sagarin’s rating system involves a mathematical formula that gives an indication of who is playing well over the past 52 weeks.

Hossler has shot under par in all nine rounds this season with the Longhorns and has a 67.89 scoring average. His most recent collegiate win came in January at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson.

His most recent amateur victory came at the Jones Cup Invitational held in Sea Island, Ga. on Feb. 5-7. He won that competition by six strokes.


The Longhorns men’s team will be back in action on Feb. 17 at the John Burns Intercollegiate in Kauai, Hawaii.
