The Texas men’s golf team shot a 301 in the final round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters to end in a tie for fourth place in Las Vegas, Nev. on Wednesday. The Longhorns finished at 882, 8-over, 13 shots behind first place.
Beau Hossler finished in the top-8 for the fifth time in a row as he shot a 75, 2 over par for a tie for eighth place. Hossler has finished in the top-8 in nearly half of the 30 tournaments he’s competed in for Texas. Wednesday’s result marked the 14th time he’s done so as a Longhorn. His 218 was nine shots out of the top spot.
Gavin Hall improved by 24 places, shooting a 71 to tie for 16th place. His 71 was the low round of the day for the Longhorns. He shot 220, 4 over par for the tournament.
Doug Ghim and Scottie Scheffler ended the tournament tied for 27th place. They both ended the tournament at 223, 7-over. Taylor Funk finished tied for 72nd, shooting 236, 20 over par.
Southern Cal took the tournament championship with a 5-over 869 and Sam Horsfield of Florida earned medalist honors at 7-under, 209.
The Longhorns will next compete at the Lamkin San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club beginning on March 13.
