Madisyn Cox, Jordan Surhoff and the 200-yard medley relay team each took home honorable mention All-America awards at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday.
Cox took the top spot in the consolation final of the 400 individual medley with a time of 4 minutes, 5.78 seconds. It was the eighth fastest swim in the event in school history. After trailing in third place through the first two legs of the race, Cox took the lead during the breaststroke and held it through the freestyle.
Surhoff swam a 1:00.55 in the 100 breaststroke consolation final to take eighth place. It was her first individual honorable mention All-America award.
The Longhorns ended the evening with a seventh place finish in the 200 medley relay consolation final. Tasija Karosas, Surhoff, Mimi Schneider and Rebecca Millard finished the race in 1:37.72. Texas sits in 16th place with 53 points with one day left in the NCAA Championships.
