Texas rowing opens Invitational with instrasquad races

On Friday, the first day of the Longhorn Invitational at Lady Bird Lake, the Texas rowing team had multiple intrasquad races in preparation for competition with Notre Dame and San Diego on Saturday.

The Texas A eights squad went head-to-head with Texas B and came out on top with a time of 7:19.20. The B squad finished in 7:25.79 at the 2,000-meter course.

In fours competition, Texas A once again came out victorious with a time of 7:51.00 with Texas B finishing in 7:55.50.


A second eights race was held between Texas A and Texas B, with the A team finishing in 6:54.10. Texas B finished in 7:10.60.

Notre Dame faced off with San Diego in four races, with the two teams splitting victories. Notre Dame picked up victories in the varsity four and I eights races while San Diego took the second varsity four and II eights events.

Texas will first take on Notre Dame at 8:20 a.m. on Saturday, followed by competition with San Diego at 11:10 a.m.
