No 21. Texas men’s tennis sweeps doubleheader against UTSA

21st ranked Texas swept a doubleheader against UT-San Antonio 5-2 and 4-0 on Saturday at Polo Tennis Club in Austin.

Texas won two doubles matches and got straight-sets singles wins from Harrison Scott, Rodrigo Banzer and Colin Markes to defeat the Roadrunners 5-2 in the afternoon match.

In the evening match, Texas won at first and second doubles 6-1, 6-0 and won three singles matches in straight sets.


Adrian Ortiz, John Mee and Johnny Goodwin clinched the team victory at the second, fourth and sixth singles positions.

It was the first time the Longhorns competed at the Polo Tennis Club this season.

“We want to get familiar with these courts and the surroundings, and we’ve got some conference matches coming up here.” said coach Michael Center.

Texas will play a road match against Baylor on Tuesday then will host four straight matches at the venue.
