Lindsey Stephens was named the Big 12 conference’s player of the week on Tuesday for her play against Texas State and BYU last week.
Stephens went 5-for-10 and reached base in all four games on her way to earning the award for the second time this season. She was also named Big 12 player of the week on March 15.
Stephens hit two home runs, a triple and two doubles in addition to scoring five runs during the week. Her 2-run home run against Texas State led the Longhorns in a 3-2 win. She followed that up with four extra-base hits in a doubleheader sweep against BYU on Saturday.
After moving to the lead off position 17 games ago, Stephens is batting .509 with five home runs and 17 RBIs. She has 14 extra-base hits and has scored 17 runs in that span.
