Posted April 16th, 2016

No. 25 Texas won both doubles matches 6-2 and swept four singles matches in straight sets in a 5-0 victory over West Virginia on Saturday at UT’s Weller Indoor Tennis Center.

Texas (13-6) improved to 5-2 in Big 12 play and will play a conference match against Iowa State on Sunday. The Mountaineers (6-10) fell to 0-6 in the conference.

“I think our ladies adjusted well to the indoors. After the first hour or so, they actually started playing moderately well, so that’s good.” said coach Howard Joffe.

UT’s Breaunna Addison won a doubles match with Katie Poluta and improved to 7-0 in conference singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Habiba Shaker at first singles.

Following Addison’s win at first singles, Daniella Roldan put Texas ahead 3-0 by defeating Kaja Mrgole at 7-5, 6-1 at fifth singles.

UT’s Neda Koprcina and Lana Groenvynck sealed the match for Texas when they won singles matches just moments apart.
