One of the top recruits in the nation visited the UT campus this past weekend, and Texas fans took notice.

Marvin Wilson, the No. 3 overall player in the 2017 class, attended Texas’ 27-6 win over Iowa State at Royal-Memorial Stadium on Saturday and was showered by chants following the game.

WIlson is the No.1 player in the state of Texas on the Statesman’s Fab 55, hailing from Bellaire Episcopal. the 6-foot-4-inch, 329 pound defensive lineman is being recruited heavily by some of the best football programs in the country. Before visiting Texas he traveled to Norman on Sept. 17, when the Sooners were beaten by Ohio State 45-24. Wilson took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on Oct. 8 and is set to visit Ohio State on Nov. 26, the day they host Michigan.

Wilson seemed to enjoy his visit to Texas while hanging out with other future Longhorns from high school and said the visit was “amazing.”

Currently 247 Sports has Wilson slated to attend Texas, a 54 percent Crystal Ball prediction, but that could change if Texas makes a coaching move. Wilson implied last week that he would not consider Texas if Charlie Strong were ousted as coach.
