Horns up

D’Onta Foreman bulled his way for an even 100 yards in the first half, becoming the first Longhorn to ever run for 100 yards in 13 consecutive games.

Sophomore safety DeShon Elliott picked off a TCU pass late in the second quarter for Texas’ 10th interception of the season and returned it 25 yards to set up a second Longhorns field goal.

Horns down

On a second fourth-and-goal in consecutive series, Charlie Strong eschewed a gamble and settled for a 24-yard field goal by new kicker Mitchell Becker.

Senior Trent Domingue, who missed huge field goals in losses to Kansas and Kansas State and has seven misses in 21 tries on the season, was wide right on a 38-yard attempt in the second quarter.

Offensive play of the game

TCU quarterback Kenny Hill broke off a 41-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, tightroping the right sideline for his second touchdown of the game.

Defensive play of the game

Midway through the second quarter, the Horned Frogs’ defense stonewalled the Longhorns. TCU safety Niko Small stopped Foreman just short of the goal line on fourth-and-goal from the 1.
