Things were a lot different for Tom Herman during his last stint at the University of Texas.

His business cards, however, were remarkably similar. He posted a side-by-side photo of his original card from his days as a Longhorns graduate assistant (1999-2000) and his new one, along with an inspirational message for all the G.A.s grinding away in film rooms across the country.

Those subtle changes make a world of difference.

One has to wonder where Herman stashed that card all these years. It shows the wear of having seen the inside of a wallet or two.

From his old apartment on Royal Crest, Herman and his “Offensive Graduate Assistant” card traveled to Huntsville (Sam Houston State), San Marcos (Texas State), Houston (Rice), Ames (Iowa State), Columbus (Ohio State), back to Houston and now back to Austin.

It’s quite the journey, and a symbolic message to every person with a dream.

It’s just too bad “The-R-Man” didn’t get his old email address back.
