Longhorns offer Westlake offensive tackle Stephan Zabie

Posted January 16th, 2017

Stephan Zabie, an offensive tackle from Westlake High School, was offered by the Texas staff Monday. It was a tough 2016 for Zabie, who was ruled ineligible by the University Interscholastic League before his senior season. Zabie is the No. 38 ranked player in the Fab 55.

He was a four-star prospect heading into the season. Zabie stands at 6-foot-6, 290 pounds and is considered an Oklahoma lean, per 247Sports. He was a key member of Westlake’s 2015 team that reached the Class 6A Division II state final.

Derek Kerstetter is Texas’ lone offensive line commit in the 2017. He played offensive tackle in high school, but at 6-foot-4, Kerstetter is likely to play guard in college. That leaves a hole on the outside in the 2017 class. Texas hosted Colorado commit Grant Polley over the weekend.
