Texas golfers Gavin Hall, Scottie Scheffler and Doug Ghim were named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list on Wednesday.
The Colonial Country Club, Friends of Golf and the Golf Coaches Association named the Longhorns among the 28 players from around the country.
Hall, a senior, has finished in the top-20 four times this season and has shot in the 60s in five rounds.
Scheffler notched his third career win at the East Lake Cup in October.
Ghim has the best stroke average, 70.46, on the Longhorns’ team.
The award is given annually to the NCAA’s best golfers in each division. The Ben Hogan Award Selection Committee takes into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period. The ten semifinalists will be announced April 12. On May 3 three finalists will be announced. The winner will be announced on May 22 at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth.
Beau Hossler was a finalist for the award in 2016 before the Longhorn turned pro.
