Patrick Fields isn’t wasting any time in his recruiting process. The 2018 safety prospect from Tulsa Union narrowed his choices to three schools and tweeted that he plans to make a decision this weekend.
He’ll choose between Big 12 rivals Texas, Oklahoma and TCU on Sunday while attending The Opening regional hosted by Nike in Frisco.

Fields, who is considered a 3-star recruit and the No. 9-ranked prospect in Oklahoma, visited Austin last weekend for Texas’ junior day. Longhorns coach Tom Herman only landed one safety, Montrell Estell, in the 2017 class and will be looking to stock up talent at the position.
Another safety prospect, 4-star safety Atanza Vongor, has also placed Texas in his top three after attending junior day.
Fields could become the second player from the Class of 2018 to commit to the Longhorns after Florida athlete Justin Watkins flipped from Florida State on Saturday.
