Texas divers Mark Anderson, Grayson Campbell, Meghan O’Brien and Alison Gibson each qualified for the NCAA Championships at the Zone D diving meet in Columbia, Mo. on Tuesday.
Anderson and Campbell finished in the top nine of the three-meter finals, making it two berths in two days for each diver. They each qualified for the one-meter event on Monday.
Anderson finished in second place at Tuesday’s final while Campbell took eighth. Anderson had 824.70 points with Campbell scoring 737.70.
O’Brien and Gibson each earned NCAA berths in the one-meter finals on Tuesday. O’Brien was also awarded a berth in the three-meter event because of her third-place finish in the one-meter competition. O’Brien scored 620.15 points to secure both berths.
Gibson needed a 12th-place finish to secure a berth in Tuesday’s competition and that’s what she got. She scored 577.00 points to earn her second NCAA berth. She also qualified for the women’s three-meter event on Monday as she took fourth place with 689.85 points.
The Zone D meet ends Wednesday as the Texas divers attempt to qualify for the platform event.
