It seems like all the recruiting focus right now is on national signing day next week, but schools across the country already are working hard on prospects for the 2021 class. (Rodolfo Gonzalez/American-Statesman file)

The Next 25: Forget 2019 — No. 3 Kenyon Green might already be the state’s top tackle

The legitimate five-star prospect is holding steady to his December 2016 commitment to LSU. (But Texas is still trying.)

Texas offer: Yes

Other top offers: LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas A&M

College: Committed to LSU on Dec. 11, 2016

Scouting Green: There’s no doubt who the state’s best offensive line prospect for the 2019 cycle is. Green is a legitimate five-star talent with a bright future at offensive tackle or guard. He committed early to LSU and is holding steadfast to that commitment despite so much time remaining before national signing day. Green visited Texas for the Orange-White game and the Longhorns won’t stop recruiting the 6-5 talent. Green would likely be the highest-rated offensive lineman in Texas for the 2018 class — even as a sophomore. He was dominant for an underclassman at The Opening Regional and Under Armour Camp Series in Houston earlier in the year.
