Wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard includes Texas in his top 10

Posted April 4th, 2017

The Texas Longhorns made the cut for Houston Lamar wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard. The four-star announced on his Twitter page Tuesday night that Tom Herman’s program would be among the 10 schools he’d focus his recruitment towards moving forward. Woodard is the No. 13 ranked player in the 2018 Fabulous 55.

The state of Texas is filled with wide receiver talent in 2018. Woodard is among three receivers who could rightfully make a claim as the top prospects at their position along with Brennan Eagles and Jalen Preston. Texas has offered all three.

Woodard isn’t the only Lamar prospect the Longhorns want in this cycle. Texas has offered cornerbacks Anthony Cook and D’Shawn Jamison, and running back Ta’Zhawn Henry recently announced the Longhorns are among his 12 finalists. Henry is yet to receive an offer from Texas.
