Caden Sterns awarded 5-star status, five future Longhorns ranked in Rivals100

The final Rivals100 of the 2018 recruiting cycle was released Monday afternoon and future Longhorns littered the list. Caden Sterns, a safety from Cibolo Steele who signed with Texas during the early period and enrolled early at Texas, was awarded 5-star status and ranked as the No. 24 player in the country.

Five other Longhorns made the list. Alief Taylor wide receiver Brennan Eagles checked in at No. 44. The 6-foot-4, 214-pound prospect is already enrolled at Texas after competing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 6.

Cornerbacks Jalen Green and Anthony Cook, who played alongside Eagles in the all-star game, were ranked No. 52 and No. 54, respectfully. B.J. Foster, a safety from Angleton who also enrolled early at Texas, fell to No. 57, while Al’vonte Woodard was ranked No. 92.


The Longhorns hold 22 commitments in the 2018 class. Nineteen of those commits signed on Dec. 20 and nine are already on campus. Texas’ recruiting class ranks third in the nation and first in the Big 12, per 247Sports.
