Texas made a top-10 list for an out-of-state cornerback for the second time in a week when Louisiana-native Derek Stingley named the Longhorns among LSU, Alabama and others his final schools. The 6-foot, 170-pound playmaker from Dunham High School in Baton Rouge is the No. 18-ranked player in the nation and the No. 2-ranked cornerback in the 2019 class, per 247Sports Composite.

Jaden Davis, a 4-star cornerback from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida named Texas among his 10 finalists earlier in the week. LSU will be the favorite for Stingley. The Tigers rarely lose out on elite prospects from Louisiana. Texas might have an inside angle with recent signee Michael Williams, a teammate of Stingley in high school.
