Texas drops one slot to No. 7 in this week’s AP poll for women’s basketball

Longhorns close regular season with Senior Night on Tuesday against Oklahoma

With only one game remaining in the regular season, Texas finds itself at No. 7 in this week’s Associated Press poll for women’s basketball.

The Longhorns split two games last week, losing 93-87 to No. 3 Baylor and beating unranked Iowa State 72-59 on Saturday.

Texas (23-5, 14-3 in Big 12) closes its regular season against Oklahoma at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Erwin Center. It will be Senior Night for Brooke McCarty, Ariel Atkins and Audrey-Ann Caron-Goudreau.

The Big 12 Tournament will be Friday through Monday in Oklahoma City. Texas, which receives a first-round bye and will open up at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Longhorns will play the winner of Friday night’s game between the Nos. 7 and 10 seeds.
