Texas adds defensive end T’Vondre Sweat to the 2019 class

Posted February 28th, 2018

Texas added its second member of the 2019 recruiting class Wednesday afternoon when Huntsville defensive end T’Vondre Sweat pledged to the Longhorns over 15 other offers, including Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Alabama. The 6-foot-3, 249-pound prospect is expected to compete at the 4i position currently occupied by Charles Omenihu and Malcolm Roach.

Sweat is a three-star prospect who ranks No. 46 on the Fabulous 55. He was an all-district selection as a sophomore and junior. The defensive end joins 4-star quarterback Roschon Johnson of Port Neches-Groves as the two commitments in the 2019 class. Texas’ 2018 recruiting class ranked third in the nation and first in the Big 12.
