Doug Ghim shot a final-round 73 to claim a share of the individual Big 12 men’s golf championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. on Wednesday.

Ghim joined Grant Hirschman of Oklahoma, Jeremy Gandon of Kansas State and Kristoffer Ventura of Oklahoma State as top finishers. Each shot 283, 3 over par for the tournament.

“It’s nice to win, obviously,” Ghim said. “I wish I could have made that putt on 18, but it was a great week.”

The Longhorns finished tied for second place after shooting 1,147 for 27 over par. Oklahoma won the team title at 19 over par.

Ghim is the sixth Longhorn to win the Big 12 championship and it’s the 15th time an individual won a conference title for UT. He is the first Longhorn to win the individual title since Scottie Scheffler did so in 2013.

Scheffler finished tied for fifth at 5 over par this time around. It was his lowest finish of the season.

Steven Chervony finished at 290, 10 over par for a tie for 18th. Drew Jones and Spencer Soosman tied for 30th at 15 over par.

“We knew that a great round might give us a chance to win, but we didn’t have that today,” UT head coach John Fields said.
