A day after being named a semifinalist to the Jack Nicklaus Award, Texas senior golfer Doug Ghim was named a member of the All-Big 12 team for the fourth year in a row, the conference announced Wednesday.
Ghim won two events this season and his stroke average of 70.04 leads Texas. He’s finished in the top-8 six total times.
Ghim previously earned a spot on the all-freshman team in his first year at Texas. Last year he earned the title of Big 12 player of the year. Fredrick Nilehn of Texas Tech won the honor this season.
Since conference awards have been given out, Ghim is the seventh player in UT history to be named to the all-conference team all four years. Jason Hartwick was the last Longhorn to earn the achievement from 2000-04. Brad Elder, Justin Leonard, Jean-Paul Hebert, Bob Estes and Mark Brooks are the other golfers to achieve the feat.
