Sophia Schubert was named a first team All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday. The WGCA All-America team announced its second team members on Thursday and freshman Kaitlyn Papp was among those chosen.
Schubert made the All-Big 12 team for the third straight year and set a school record with a stroke average of 71.76. She finished in the top 10 seven times and the top five five times, and she is on the final watch list for the Annika Award.
Papp earned a spot on the WGCA’s All-America second team, the organization announced Thursday.
Papp had one of the best rookie seasons in the history of the women’s golf program, earning titles as the Big 12 player of the year and Big 12 freshman of the year.
