Posted May 24th, 2018

Yuya Ito fell in the first round of the men’s NCAA singles draw on Wednesday in Winston-Salem, N.C.

William Bushamuka of Kentucky topped the UT sophomore All-American, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. Ito acheived All-America status by winning two matches in the singles draw last year.

After Ito won the first set, the second set was delayed due to rain midway through the second set. The delay lasted one hour and 40 minutes.

Bushamuka broke Ito’s serve when play started again and rolled to the win.
