Sophia Schubert and United States lead at Curtis Cup

The United States and Sophia Schubert lead Great Britain and Ireland 4-2 after the first day of the Curtis Cup in Scarsdale, N.Y.

Schubert and teammate Lauren Stephenson halved a four-ball match with Paula Grant and Shannon McWilliam.

The United States will need 10.5 points to win the cup. Great Britain and Ireland can retain the cup with 10 points.


Despite winning eight of the last ten Curtis Cups, the United States team was bested by Great Britain and Ireland two years ago.
