Texas makes cut for three-star IMG Academy offensive lineman Chris Akporoghene

Posted June 18th, 2018

Texas isn’t a stranger to recruiting at IMG Academy in Florida, a private school that drew the ire of many high school coaches in the state. The Longhorns signed four-star inside linebacker Ayodele Adeoye in the 2018 class and are hunting 2019 running backs Trey Sanders and Noah Cain. Add three-star offensive tackle Chris Akporoghene to the list of potential signees after the senior included Texas among his top five schools.

Akporoghene is a 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect who is listed as an offensive tackle prospect on recruiting sites. He can also project to either guard position because he lacks the ideal height for an edge blocker. He is a big man with a nasty streak and experience against some of the best prep defensive linemen in the country. He holds 33 offers.
