Weather coerces an alteration to Texas’ schedule at the College World Series

Posted June 18th, 2018

OMAHA, Neb. — It appears the Mother Nature may be Texas’ toughest opponent at the College World Series.

Weather impacted the third day of action at the College World Series on Monday. As a result, Texas’ elimination game against Florida has been pushed back on Tuesday’s schedule at TD Ameritrade Park. The Longhorns and Gators will meet 65 minutes after the conclusion of the contest featuring Mississippi State and North Carolina, who will play at 10 a.m. after their game on Monday night was rescheduled.

The first pitch for Texas and Florida’s game was originally scheduled for 1 p.m.

Texas also had a weather delay of nearly three hours called in the midst of Sunday’s 11-5 loss to Arkansas.

Arkansas and Texas Tech are still set to play on Tuesday evening. Rain, however, is in the Omaha forecast.
