The nation’s top cornerback prospect chose home. Derek Stingley Jr., a five-star from Louisiana, picked LSU on Wednesday over Texas and Florida. The Longhorns made the final cut, but LSU is the best program in the country at keeping in-state talent within its borders. Stingley becomes the next example for the Tigers. Stingley is a The Opening Finalist and recorded 11 interceptions as a junior.

Texas’ lone defensive back commitment in the 2019 class is Kenyatta Watson II (Ga.) with the Longhorns still in hot pursuit of Jeffery Carter and Marques Caldwell. The Longhorns also want Jalen Catalon as the nickle in this cycle.
