Top opponents for Texas in 2018, No. 19: Oklahoma State DE Jordan Brailford

Posted July 17th, 2018

Football season will be here before you know it. Through the dog days of summer, we’re going to get you prepared  with a series on some of the best players Texas will face in 2018.

Who is he?

Jordan Brailford made up for lost time in 2017. The Oklahoma State defensive end missed all of 2016 due to injury, then spent four months on the mend after shoulder surgery last April. Finally healthy, Brailford racked up 57 total tackles, including 11 tackles for loss and five sacks to land on the All-Big 12 second team. He’s a preseason All-Big 12 pick this year.

What should the Longhorns watch for?

The Cowboys have plenty of depth along the defensive line, including Enoch Smith Jr. (5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks), Trey Carter (4.5, 2.5) and Cole Walterscheid (6.5, 1), so expect them to rotate. Offensive line will be a question mark for Texas this season, and Brailford will be one of many rush-men hoping to wreak havoc.
