Cross-country teams earn top-4 finishes at Barrios Invitational

The men’s and women’s cross-country teams were in competition Saturday at the Texas A&M Arturo Barrios Invitational in College Station.

Destiny Collins finished in fourth place in the women’s 6-kilometer race, helping Texas secure fourth place overall.

Alex Rogers took seventh place in the men’s 8K to lead Texas to a third-place team finish.

“We need to find some consistency among our group,” men’s coach Pete Watson said. “We need to close the gap from 1-3 if we want to be competing for a championship in two weeks.”

Texas competes at the Big 12 Championships in Ames, Iowa on Oct. 26.
