The past will meet the present when the Texas softball team hosts its alumni game on Sunday.

Among the alumni who are expected to play are ex-pitcher Tiarra Davis, former standouts Nadia Taylor and Brejae Washington and Lindsey (Stephens) Barrera, the school’s all-time leader in slugging percentage. Cat Osterman, who recently announced that she will participate in the 2019 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selections Trials, won’t pitch but will play defense. Among the Texas Exes who won’t play but will be in attendance are 2018 graduates Kristen Clark, Randel Leahy, Paige von Sprecken and Erica Wright.

The first pitch at McCombs Field is scheduled for 11 a.m. Admission is free, but fans at home can catch former Texas catcher Megan Willis on the Longhorn Network’s broadcast.

Overall, Texas expects 40 ex-players to be in attendance. Following the game, the Texas alumni will mix and mingle with the current players and new coach Mike White at a team BBQ. White was hired this summer to replace Connie Clark, who had led UT since its first softball season in 1996.

The alumni game will lead off the final week of UT’s fall schedule. Galveston College and Temple Community College will be in Austin for a double-header on Wednesday. In its fall finale on Friday, Texas will host a Texas State team that Osterman is an assistant coach on.

Having beaten LSU, St. Edward’s, McLennan Community College and Weatherford College, Texas is 4-0 this fall.
