After playing volleyball with Team USA this summer, future Longhorn Molly Phillips is now an All-American.

Phillips was named an Under Armour All-American this past Wednesday. One of the 150 high school seniors recognized by Under Armour, Phillips was placed on the honor roll’s second team.

An outside hitter, Phillips is hitting .292 this season while averaging 5.6 kills and 3.5 digs per set. Her Mansfield High team has posted a 35-14 record. This past summer, Phillips started for a U.S. Women’s Junior National Team that won the NORCECA Continental Championship.

Phillips was joined on Team USA by future Texas teammates Logan Eggleston and Skylar Fields. Both Phillips and Field can officially sign with Texas on Nov. 14. Eggleston skipped her senior year of high school and is currently averaging 2.89 kills per set as a UT freshman.

The players on the first team of Under Armour’s All-American team will appear in an all-star game later this year. Texas last had a recruit appear in that showcase in 2016.
