Anna Turati fell in three sets to end her run at the International Tennis Federation 25k pro circuit event in Norman, Okla. Wednesday.
Sophie Chang won 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-3 to move on to the main draw round of 16. Chang checks in at No. 339 in the latest WTA world singles rankings.
Before Turati’s loss in nearly three hours Wednesday, she put on a dominating performance in the final round of qualifying Tuesday.
She defeated Marina Davtyan 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the round of 32 main draw.
Turati, ranked No. 797 in the WTA world singles rankings, beat Jasmine Amber Asghar and Ivana Corley in previous rounds of qualifying. Both wins were straight-sets victories.
