About the Longhorns: This will be UT’s first game against an AP Top 25 team. … Texas warmed up for MSU by trouncing UTSA 98-54 Wednesday at the Erwin Center. Williams had a season-high 22 points for the Horns, who shot 51 percent from the field. Warren was steady as injured guard Lashann Higgs’ replacement in the starting lineup, scoring seven points and grabbing four rebounds. … Texas is shooting 47.4 percent from the floor for the season but only 62.7 percent on free throws. The Longhorns are outrebounding their opponents by an average of 47-32 per game. … The next game will be next Sunday against Tennessee at the Erwin Center.

A graduate of Brenham High School, she has snagged at least 10 rebounds in five of seven games. Parked under the hoop, she has made 71.3 percent of her shots. … The Bulldogs are coming off a 98-63 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday. McCowan had 23 points and 15 boards in just 24 minutes. Bibby contributed 16 points and nine rebounds. … MSU’s closest game was a 72-44 victory over Virginia on Nov. 15.
