Longhorns remain in mix for 4-star safety Jamal Morris

Posted March 4th, 2018

A trio of schools remain in the fight for 4-star safety Jamal Morris. The Fort Bend Bush product announced Sunday afternoon on Twitter that Texas, Oklahoma and LSU are his final schools. Morris is the No. 34-ranked player on the 2019 Fabulous 55. Texas made the cut because of Morris’ relationship with safety coach Craig Naivar.

“Coach Naivar and I go back a long time. That’s my guy and he didn’t stop recruiting me once he got to Texas and that showed me how loyal he is,” Morris said at Texas’ junior day in February. “He keeps it real.”

Morris plans on committing in the summer and is likely to take his official visits in the spring. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is the No. 20-ranked safety in the nation, per 247Sports Combine. Morris is also close with 4-star defensive back Erick Young, who also holds a Texas offer.
