The decision approaches for Cuero wide receiver Jordan Whittington. The No. 1 player on the initial 2019 Fabulous 55 is set to announce on Saturday at 2 p.m. between Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA and Florida. Texas was considered the long-time favorite before recent pushes by Texas A&M and UCLA. He’ll announce his decision on Twitter.

Whittington is an all-around football player, excelling at nearly every position at the prep level. Some see his upside best suited for safety, but he wants to play slot receiver and return kicks and punts as a collegiate. He’s caught 117 passes for 2,254 yards and 28 touchdowns over the past two seasons, adding nine interceptions.
Whittington returned three of his nine interceptions for touchdowns and added one kickoff and two punt returns for touchdowns. He was the District 15-4A Division II MVP as a junior and sophomore, as well as a first-team all-district selection on offense and defense as a freshman.
