Texas made the cut for another Fabulous 55 member when Aledo product Jeffery Carter announced his top schools via Twitter on Thursday afternoon. The 4-star cornerback including the Longhorns among his top 10 schools. The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect was a one-time commitment of Oklahoma and now Texas A&M and Texas are considered the leaders.

Carter is a two-way starter at one of the premier high schools in the state. He excels at cornerback and wide receiver and could play either in college. He already holds nearly 20 offers, including the biggest programs in the nation. Carter’s highest upside is at cornerback because his height will turn from a negative to a positive. Carter was a first-team all-district selection as a junior.

The Longhorns hold three commitments in the 2019 class, all represented on the initial 2019 Fabulous 55. The class consists of 5-star wide receiver Jordan Whittington, 4-star dual-threat quarterback Roschon Johnson and 3-star defensive end T’Vondre Sweat. Texas wants at least four defensive backs in the 2019 class.
