The Texas men’s tennis team took seven of eight singles matches and all four doubles contests Friday on the first day of the Miami Invitational.
Fourth-ranked Christian Sigsgaard, Chih Chi Huang, Harrison Scott, Rodrigo Banzer and Colin Markes all won in straight sets.
Leonardo Telles and Nevin Arimilli also took singles wins. Every Longhorn except Arimilli defeated a Mississippi player. Arimilli’s opponent was from Miami.
All of the doubles wins came against Wisconsin.
Sigsgaard and Scott teamed up for an 8-5 doubles win. Yuya Ito and Huang also won 8-5. Markes and Telles had the easiest win at 8-2 while Johnny Goodwin and Banzer won 8-6.
