Cole Hammer in first place at Amer Ari Invitational

The Longhorns made a strong push Friday, led by Cole Hammer, to move from ninth place to third at the Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
Texas shot 265, 16 shots better than their opening round, to sit at 546 through two rounds of the tournament.
Hammer shot 64, tied for the lowest round of the day, to move into first place with a total of 131.
Steven Chervony and Spencer Soosman sit tied in 12th place after each shot in the 60s. Chervony carded a 66 while Soosman shot 67. Both trail Hammer by seven shots.
Each Longhorn shot under par for the day. Parker Coody shot 68 while Christoffer Bring recorded a 71. Coody’s tied for 20th with Bring tied for 72nd.
Oklahoma State sits atop the team standings, six shots ahead of Texas.
The tournament concludes Saturday.
