The Texas men’s tennis team won the doubles point and collected five singles wins to defeat Tulsa 6-1 on the road Friday.
The win moves the No. 6 Longhorns to 8-0 in dual-match play this season.
Christian Sigsgaard clinched the victory for Texas with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win over Majed Kilani.
Texas opened the competition by winning the doubles point. Colin Markes and Leonardo Telles won 6-3 over Kody Pearson and Daniel Siddall. Chih Chi Huang and Yuya Ito sealed the doubles point by coming back to defeat Boriss Kamdem and Tom Thelwall-Jones 7-5.
Markes started singles competition with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Siddall. It was Markes’ eighth straight singles victory.
Huang then defeated Kamdem 6-4, 6-0 for his 12th straight singles win.
After Sigsgaard sealed the match, Ito and Telles claimed two more wins for the Longhorns.
Texas next travels to Fayetteville, Ark. to take on Arkansas at 1 p.m. Sunday.
